Yang Dafu is a doctor, professor whose main research interests include foreign linguistics and applied linguistics. He has also dabbled in cognitive linguistics, lexicology, corpus linguistics, language research methods, and the application of statistical analysis in language research. In 1997, he participated in a national philosophical and social science planning project. From 1998 to 2001, he presided over "Analysis of Interlanguage Characteristics of English Learners in China Based on Corpus," a national philosophical and social science planning project. In 2002, he presided over "Research on Interactive English Teaching Methods" as part of the Shaanxi higher education reform in the early 21st century. In that same year, he published a monograph titled "Analysis of English Error Patterns" and edited "Selected Reading of Linguistic Masterpieces." In 2004, he presided over "A Cluster Study of Chinese Verbs and Their English Translation," a scientific research project of the Shaanxi Provincial Department of Education. In 2005, he participated as editor-in-chief in CLEC Corpus-based English Analysis for Learners in China. He has published more than 10 papers on language philosophy, foreign language teaching research, and interlanguage analysis, including "Grice: Inference of Conversational Implication. He has won an excellent teaching quality award as well as a scientific research achievement award at various universities. In 2004, he won the third prize for Outstanding Achievement Award in Philosophy and Social Sciences in Shaanxi Province. Additionally, his project on Theory and Practice of English Writing Teaching won the second prize for excellent teaching achievements in Shaanxi Province in 2005.
