English Major Students Visit Transn for Immersive Language Service Experience
Updated: 2025-12-17

Amid AI-driven transformation across industries, the language service sector is embracing intelligent innovation. To help students stay abreast of industry trends and clarify career directions, the English College organized 404 English majors to participate in cognitive internships at Transn (Shaanxi) Information Technology Co., Ltd. From November 19 to December 17, 2025. The students embarked on a practice-focused trip centered on “machine simultaneous interpretation,” experiencing firsthand how AI is reshaping language services and gaining fresh inspiration for their future professional development.

Prior to the internship, careful preparations were made to ensure a smooth and organized process. Sun Yunan, in charge of this internship, organized a mobilization meeting for the students. She highlighted the practical value of the experience, encouraging students to engage thoughtfully and explore actively to clarify their personal career paths through close contact with cutting-edge industry practices.

The day began with an informative industry lecture delivered by Li Weihong from Transn. Using detailed data and vivid cases, she analyzed the translation industry’s market scale, competitive landscape, and technological trends. From traditional language services to AI-driven solutions, from talent requirements to emerging career paths, her insights broadened the students’ perspectives and underscored the growing importance of interdisciplinary competencies combining language proficiency and technological literacy.

A highlight of the visit was the hands-on machine simultaneous interpretation session, which many described as “eye-opening.” Moving beyond conventional human-computer interaction, Transn designed a group-based immersive activity. Each group prepared speeches in advance, delivered them on stage, and responded to spontaneous questions from peers—all while the machine interpretation system translated the dialogue in real time.

Through this process, students observed how AI enabled efficient and accurate cross-language communication. They witnessed the power of intelligent technology in multilingual settings and recognized that future language professionals must not only master language skills but also learn to collaborate effectively with AI tools.

The visit provided students with a clear view of how AI is transforming language services and inspired them to rethink their academic and career planning.

Consistently committed to student-centered education, the English College places strong emphasis on practice-oriented learning aligned with industry needs. The collaboration with Transn represents a concrete step in enhancing the College’s practical teaching framework and expanding student development platforms. Moving forward, the College will continue to strengthen ties with leading industry partners, building more bridges between theory and practice and nurturing well-rounded language professionals equipped to thrive in the evolving landscape of language services.
