On the occasion of the 39th Teachers’ Day, Yuan Xiaolu, Dean of the School of English and Literature as well as the School of Translation Studies, Zhang Rui, Vice Dean of the School of Translation Studies, Jian Shi, Director of the General Office, and Liu Hongjuan, Deputy Director of the General Office visited Professor Liang Genshun on behalf of the teachers and students of the school, and extended best wishes and sincere greetings to him.
“Hello, Professor Liang, we come to visit you and wish you a happy Teacher’s Day in advance!” During the break, Yuan Xiaolu and his accompanying fellows came into the classroom and sent flowers and sincere wishes to Professor Liang Genshun who was answering students’ questions. They brought the care, thanks and blessings from all the teachers and students in the school to Professor Liang to pay high tribute to his hard work for the development and construction of the school, and expressed the gratitude for his continued concern and suggestions for the future of the school. Yuan also required the students to keep up with Professor Liang’s teaching pace, think more and practice diligently, stick to their ideals and beliefs, accumulate youthful strength, dare to contribute, study professional knowledge in a solid way, reinforce quality and spirit of professional translators, and become outstanding talents in translation major with broad vision, great passion and deep thinking.
During the visit, the students also extended greetings to Professor Liang Genshun. They regarded Professor Liang as a vigorous man like a diamond in the rough. He was a respected mentor and friend with rigorous scholarship. His amiable smile and wise and profound eyes made him seem quite friendly. They all enjoyed Professor Liang’s class very much.
