On the morning of August 2nd, Professor Yuan Xiaolu visited the Academy of Translation and Interpreting of China International Publishing Group (CIPG) with his companion, who serves as the Dean of the School of Translation Studies and the School of English Language and Literature. They had a friendly symposium with Huang Yulong, Party Secretary and Dean of the Academy of Translation and Interpreting of CIPG, Li Weiyong, Vice President of the Academy of Translation and Interpreting of CIPG, and Xing Yutang, Vice President of the Academy of Translation and Interpreting of CIPG.
At the symposium, Huang Yulong extended a warm welcome to Professor Yuan Xiaolu and his colleagues from Xi'an Fanyi University. Since its establishment, the Academy of Translation and Interpreting of CIPG has made full use of its resource advantages to meet the needs for national translation capacity building and serve the cause of international communication. Huang hoped that both sides would use this symposium as an opportunity to further strengthen cooperation and jointly promote the development of China's international communication capacity.
Professor Yuan Xiaolu said that the Translators Association of Xi'an was founded in 1985 by Professor Ding Zuyi, a pioneer of private education. The association received strong support from the Xi'an Science and Technology Association, which also founded Xi'an Fanyi University in 1987. The Translators Association of Xi'an has always been adhering to the principle of "running a school through the association and supporting the association by running a school. Xi'an Fanyi University is a comprehensive university that primarily emphasizes the arts and incorporates foreign languages. The university adheres to the concept of openness and attaches great importance to foreign exchange and cooperation. Xi'an Fanyi University has achieved great success in constructing national first-class majors over the past few years. Yuan also hopes to cooperate with the Academy of Translation and Interpreting of CIPG in aspects such as training translation talents and organizing industry activities, so that they can jointly promote exchanges and mutual learning between Chinese and foreign civilizations while enhancing international communication abilities.
Fang Xin, Vice President of the Translation Association of Xi'an, and Professor Zhang Rui, Vice Dean of the School of Translation Studies also attended the event.
