Yuan Xiaolu is a male professor who serves as a graduate supervisor with research interests in applied linguistics, translation, and English teaching. Professor Yuan Xiaolu graduated from Xi'an International Studies University in 1984 with a Bachelor of Arts degree. From 2002 to 2004, he studied at Xi'an International Studies University and obtained an educational background in English language and literature. Currently, Professor Yuan Xiaolu serves as the Dean of both the School of English and Literature as well as the School of Translation Studies. Concurrently, he also serves as an expert in project evaluation at the National Social Science Fund of China, managing director of the Asia-Africa Association of China, vice president of the Shaanxi Translators Association, managing director of the Advisory Committee for College English Teaching in Shaanxi Province, member of the Xi’an International Language Environment Construction Committee, deputy director of the TESOL Northwest Expert Committee, and consultant at the Europe-Asia Center for Chinese Education.
Professor Yuan Xiaolu has been long engaged in the research of English teaching theory, translation and practice, as well as teacher development. He presided over many national social science projects, provincial philosophy and social science projects, and college English teaching reform projects from the Ministry of Education. He also participated in many provincial and ministerial projects. He has published more than 40 papers in the source journals and core journals of CSSCI, whose research results have had a significant impact on related fields with a high download and citation rate. He has published many translations, such as Ten Chinese Classic Tragedies, Biographies of famous historical figures in Shaanxi, and 100 cases of Targeted Poverty Alleviation in China. Additionally, he has presided over the compilation of 13 more teaching materials that are widely used in colleges and universities within this province. Professor Yuan Xiaolu pays attention to cultivating outstanding students and guides many students to win successes in provincial and national competitions. He has consecutively won the second prize for both the 14th and 15th Outstanding Achievements in Philosophy and Social Sciences in Shaanxi Province. He also won the honorary titles of "excellent teacher" and "teacher with excellence in faith, virtue, knowledge, and kindheartedness" at the school.
